Raúl

Raúl was born in Madrid, Spain on June 27, 1977. He was a professional football player of the Spain national football team and an important striker of Real Madrid. He was a member of Atletico Madrid youth team prior to transfer to Real Madrid’s youth team. After a short term, he became a member of Real Madrid’s youth academy, playing at different levels. He obtained his first professional contract on the basis of his outstanding performances and unremitting efforts with the fourth division team Real Madrid C, and was promoted to the first division team in a short time. He had worked for Real Madrid club for 16 years, becoming the second top goal scorer. As the most capped professional football player, he won 323 goals for the club in 741 matches.

In the period with Los Blancos, he won La Liga titles six times, UEFA Champions League titles three times, Supercopa de España titles four times, UEFA Super Cup one time and Intercontinental Cup two times. In history of Champions League, Raúl is the third highest goalscorer, following Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and the most capped professional football player. For the sake of eminent gift and individual efforts, he took the position of Real Madrid’s captain until his departure in 2010.

After Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Telmo Zarra and fellow Real Madrid legend Hugo Sánchez, he won 228 goals and became the fifth-highest goalscorer in the history of the competition. In addition, he won 256 goals in European leagues, 228 goals in La Liga and 28 goals in the Bundesliga. After leaving from Real Madrid, he reached an agreement with Schalke 04 and won the 400th goal in 2012. That is exiting news for FC SChalke 04, which qualified for the 2010–11 UEFA Champions League. The exceptional professional football player won the first goal for the club in a match against Bayern Munich.

In 2012, he transferred to Qatari side Al Sadd a large sum of transfer fee. When he played for the club in August 2012, he scored a penalty in extra time to defeat Mesaimeer. After the position of Abdulla Koni having been taken, Raúl took the responsibility of captain, directing the team in the following matches to write their own splendid history. Under the leadership of Raul, Al Sadd won the 2012–13 Qatar Stars League title for the first time in five years.

In addition played for many football clubs, he also played for the Spain national football team in many matches. He has netted 17 goals at different levels for Spain national football team. During the period played with senior team, Raul won 44 goals in 102 matches for Spain in total. Among these 32 international goals, six out of them were won by Raul in the finals of some major tournaments and 12 out of them were won from friendly matches.
